Know another music teacher who’d like it? Send them your invite link. They get the same free month to try it, and when they start paying, you get a month’s worth of credit: $9 on the monthly plan, $7.50 on the annual plan, or a free month if you haven’t subscribed yet. Up to 12 a year.
Questions
Do I need a card to start the trial?
No. Sign in with your Google account and you have a month to try everything.
What happens when the trial ends?
Choose monthly or annual to keep going. If you don’t, you get a 7-day grace period, and then your account becomes read-only: you can still sign in and see everything, but not change it. Your plans, library and logs are never deleted because a trial or plan ended, and subscribing again makes them editable.
How does the referral month work?
Share your invite link with a teacher. When they make their first payment, you earn a reward:
- On the monthly plan, a $9 account credit: one month’s payment.
- On the annual plan, a $7.50 account credit: a twelfth of the $90 year.
- If you haven’t subscribed yet, a free month added to your free time.
You can earn up to 12 a year. If the payment that earned one is refunded or disputed within 60 days, that reward is taken back.
Is it per teacher or per school?
Per teacher. Each teacher has their own private workspace; nothing is shared between accounts.
Do I need First Steps in Music or Conversational Solfège?
Refrain is shaped around them: its starting levels use First Steps in Music categories and Conversational Solfège steps. Everything is editable, so you can rename categories, add levels and plan your own way. You’ll still want your own copies of the books you teach from.
Does it work on an iPhone or iPad?
Refrain runs in the browser and is designed for the classroom computer first. It works on iPhone and iPad too, and an iOS Shortcut sends links, photos and PDFs from your phone’s share sheet straight to your inbox.
What about my students’ privacy?
Refrain records each class, never individual children. There’s no roster and no per-student data. See the privacy policy.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, in Settings › Billing. Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You keep full access until the end of the month or year you’ve paid for; after that your account becomes read-only, and your data stays until you delete it. Payments aren’t refunded, so cancel before the next renewal.
Are prices in US dollars? What about tax?
Prices are in US dollars. Any sales tax that applies where you live is added at checkout, before you pay.
