The service
Refrain is a lesson-planning tool for music teachers, provided by Ansble LLC, 5585 South Indian Rock Rd, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA (“we”). By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Your account
You sign in with a Google account and are responsible for what happens under it. Each account is for one teacher.
Trial, plans and referrals
- New accounts get a 30-day free trial. No payment details are needed for it.
- After the trial, Refrain costs $9 a month or $90 a year per teacher.
- If you don’t subscribe when the trial ends, you get a 7-day grace period, and then your account becomes read-only.
- When a teacher you invited makes their first payment, you get a reward: a $9 account credit on the monthly plan, a $7.50 account credit on the annual plan, or a free month added to your free time if you haven’t subscribed. At most 12 a year; a reward is reversed if the payment that earned it is refunded or disputed within 60 days.
Renewal, cancellation and refunds
Plans renew automatically every month or year until cancelled. Cancel any time in Settings › Billing: you keep full access until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your account becomes read-only; your data is never deleted unless you delete it. Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. Prices are in US dollars; any applicable sales tax is added at checkout.
Your content
What you add to Refrain stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service. Only upload material you have the right to use, and keep student information out of it.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service, try to get into other accounts, or overload it.
Suspension and ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Account, which removes your data (see the privacy policy for what remains).
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used for abuse or spam, or puts the service or other users at risk. Where we can, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data. Accounts with an unpaid balance become read-only rather than being deleted.
Warranty, liability and law
Refrain is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA.
Changes
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date above, and tell you in the app or by email before a change that matters takes effect.
